I have over 20 years’ experience of preparing articles for medical journals. 
Some author guidelines are more user-friendly than others; there can be pages of information, some of it conflicting. 

It’s also worth doing a quick dummy submission, as there are sometimes discrepancies versus the author guidelines (e.g. number of keywords required) and the process can include some unexpected requests for information that requires liaison with the co-authors.

If you’re preparing a manuscript for publication in a peer-reviewed journal, I can edit it for readability and consistency while also ensuring that it meets journal requirements – flagging up any missing information, reducing word counts, reformatting tables, and so on.

When returning your paper, I’ll supply a condensed summary of the target journal’s specific requirements, to assist with finalising the submission.

I’m happy to check page proofs and either mark up a PDF or track amends on the publisher’s online platform. Journals usually require a fast turnaround, so I’ll aim to get this done within 24–48 hours.
